Useful Things

So, a couple of posts ago I mentioned wanting to make more than decorative jewelry items.  Here is a picture of a drawstring wristlet I made by weaving together about 850 bright aluminum rings.  The bag measures about 3 by 4 inches, big enough to hold a driver's license, debit card, keys, and a few dollars.

The aluminum makes it lightweight enough to hang from the wrist without a "dragging" feeling.  It was fun to make, and while it is foremost a useful item, I think it looks pretty good, too.

    Hi, I'm Hannah Medrow

I spend most of my time weaving metal rings, working with metal or thinking about working with metal.  I'm also an occasional activist.  I have strong opinions about a lot of things, but mostly I like to share information.  Hopefully I will be able to share useful information here.  Feel free to chime in if you have something to share.
